“We're super happy. This race just after the Med Max was great. Having the opportunity to take part in the Rolex Middle Sea race is fantastic. It was magical, there were other top Class40s. Winning the race is incredible and unique. Passing all the islands is magical but super technical. We're really, really happy. It was a great battle with Mikael Mergui (Centrakor). He's an incredible skipper with a great crew. They're good, and they motivated us to give it our all, especially at the end. Very, very happy. Very happy with the boat, the crew and our little “trainee” Kito. We learned a lot from an experienced person like Kito. We need to take advantage and learn as much as we can. It's a good end to the season. Now it's back home, back to work and looking forward to next year!”
Kito de Pavant
“I had the privilege of being invited aboard the Class40 Tyrolit by the young and talented Italians Matteo Sericano and Luca Rosetti to take part in the Rolex Middle Sea Race 2024.
We had it all. A magnificent start under spinnaker in the heart of the town of La Valetta, thunderstorms that took their toll on our brand new spinnaker, long hours of calm in the north of Sicily that enabled Crosscall to make a magnificent comeback, electronics and computer failures, sustained rain, a wild reaching leg between Favignana and Pantelleria, a long beat to get back to Malta and, above all, an anthology match with the crew of Centrakor that ended in our favor as we approached Comino.
A fine victory to round off this magnificent Med season...”
