4 days of racing, 2 coastal races and 1 24-hour offshore race, a fine program for the 20 Class40s taking part in the Spi Ouest France BPGO.
Their impressions.
Corentin Douguet
"What a pleasure this Spi Ouest-France - Banque Populaire Grand Ouest was! Bringing together so many skills and so much experience on the same boat was an opportunity in itself. But what I remember most is the speed at which the team worked. Everyone gave their all and trusted each other immediately. It was a pure joy to experience. Thank you Thomas Coville, Yoann Richomme, Axel Tréhin Skipper, Rodrigue Cabaz, Pierre and Fabrice.
A well-born boat. Once again, it took quite a team to design and build a machine that would be competitive right from the start. So thanks to all those who have worked to get us where we are today, and there are many of them.
A top-notch organization and a fierce regatta with some fine opponents. Congratulations to the crews of Guillaume Pirouelle and Achille Nebout in particular, but also to the others.
A victory in a major event.
It's always a pleasure, even if I preferred the days when victory in the Spi Ouest was rewarded with a crew member's weight in oysters and white wine.
We've come away from this with a lot of things to work on and improve for the future."
Achille Nebout
"A great match on the water, with a very committed and efficient fleet! Nothing but positive things to remember!
THE BALANCE SHEET:
- Super speed on all points of sail
- A winter refit that is bearing fruit
- Achille and his crew made their mark on this great race against the competition
- Another podium on the boat, the series continues!"
William Mathelin-Moreaux
"4 days of racing for a great event! There were some good things, some not so good, but in any case it was great training for the start of the season. It's great for the future and very encouraging in terms of performance. We're very happy with what we've done this winter, even if there's still a bit of work to do on the boat."
Team Interaction
"Rain and cloudy skies for this 2025 edition!
But the whole team had a great time and finished 11th out of 21 competitors! The boat's entire wardrobe was reviewed during the series of maneuvers. The confrontation with the other competitors (in particular the latest generation boats!) enabled us to measure ourselves and identify speed deficits on certain points of sail: a great area to work on for the coming month!"
Vincent Riou
"The ideal opportunity to test the boat's latest evolutions in real conditions. These four days in Quiberon Bay have enabled us to identify the areas where we need to make adjustments, in particular to the rudder, which the team will be optimizing again this week. A 10th place finish, and above all, valuable lessons to prepare for the rest of the season."
