An intense finale to a hotly contested edition

The Rolex Fastnet Race 2025 lived up to all its promises: after 3 days, 10 hours, 2 minutes and 1 second of intense sailing between Cowes and Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, it was Corentin Douguet and his crew (Axel Tréhin, Rodrigue Cabaz and Laurent Pruvost), aboard Faites un don pour la SNSM.org, the Liftv3 #209, who came out on top. In doing so, they set a new reference time on this course.

In an extremely close finish, Pep Costa's crew finished less than two minutes behind the winner, taking a superb second place with Class40 VSF Sports. The podium was completed by Pietro Luciani, Hugo Picard and Ryan Barkey on Les Invincibles, all of whom were extremely consistent throughout the race.

Nicolas Guibal finished first in the race on Class40 Esatco #141.

Words from the skippers

Corentin Douguet (Faites un don pour la SNSM.org)

"We didn't manage to kill the match! The conditions didn't lend themselves to it, but that's fine too. That's the game on this type of course. A lot can happen right up to the end. It was intense right to the end. This is our third consecutive victory after the Spi Ouest-France and the Normandy Channel Race. Three races, three wins: we're going to try to keep up the pace. The boat is well-built, we're winning one race after another... We can't think of a better argument to convince a partner."

Pep Costa (VSF Sports)

"It wasn't easy, it was very technical from a strategic point of view. At times, we weren't where we wanted to be, but we did everything we could to get back. Sailing with Pablo Santurde, Alexis Thomas and Kevin Bloch was a real luxury. I'm delighted with the experience."

Pietro Luciani (replacing William Mathelin-Moreau)

"We were a bit left to our own devices, like children without their parents. But we managed to find our own momentum and put in a great race. I think William is proud of the result despite his absence."

Milan Kolacek (Inland Roots Ocean Soul)

"This is my first Fastnet in Class40 and I'm very pleased with the result. The boat is demanding, especially downwind, but I've learned a lot alongside Pierre Brasseur and Adrien Hardy."
